In this workshop, we will cover how to use custom filters, swap faces in photographs, turn a photograph into a sticker, as well as insert an image within text, using basic tools in Photoshop.
Photoshop
Adobe Photoshop CS 6 (Available on school computers in Taylor 205 and CoRE)
From Photo to Sticker
- Shape tool
- Fill tool
- Copy photo onto the second layer
- Layer Menu > Create Clipping Mask
- Transform or Crop (if necessary)
- Use outside sticker website to order!
Image in Text
- Open image
- Create duplicate layer (Command+J on Mac)
- Create a Blank layer
- Place blank layer in between the two photo layers
- Fill Layer
- Select the Type Tool
- Set foreground color and add text (foreground color should match the fill layer)
- Edit text with Free Transform Command
- Place text layer below layer one (the first photo layer)
- Select ‘Layer One’ and create clipping mask

- Hiding/Un-Hiding Backgrounds
Face Swap
- Open both photos
- Lasso tool
- Copy and Paste
- Duplicate Layer

- Clone tool (including stamp)
- Adjustment Layer:
- Brightness/Contrast
- Levels
- Curves
- Hue/Saturation
- Pixels and Merging Layers
